Asiea Naqash pays surprise visit to Super-Specialty Hospital Shireen Bagh | KNO

Minister of State for Health, Medical Education and Social Welfare, Asiea Naqash today paid a surprise visit to the Government Super Specialty Hospital, Shireen Bagh, Srinagar to inspect the functioning of the institution, besides taking stock of the services being made available to the patients.

The Minister, during the visit inspected various units of the hospital and enquired about the facilities being provided to the patients.

          The Minister also took stock of the fully automatic operation theaters for nephrology, gastroenterology and cardiology which have been built at an estimated cost of Rs 8.62 crore. She asked the authorities to ensure proper maintenance of all crucial equipments in these vital units for larger interest of the ailing.

      She impressed upon them to maintain utmost levels of sanitation and ensure hygienic environment in the hospital which is pre-requisite for health of the patients. She also directed the hospital to employ proper waste management techniques including conscious  waste segregation and disposal.

     The Minister also interacted with the patients and their attendants and enquired about the status of services being extended to them in the hospital.

         The Minister said that Government is committed to upgrade facilities at all public healthcare institutions, especially at super specialty hospitals so that people can get quality care.       

          Later, hospital authorities apprised the Minister about overall functioning of the hospital and additional measures needed to further augment its infra and other healthcare facilities.

        Principal Secretary Health and Medical Education, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Medical Superintendent, Muhammad Saleem Tak, doctors, hospital staff and other concerned accompanied the Minister during her visit.
